Waterford Harvest Festival was a fun filled festival celebrating the culinary heritage and culture of Waterford, the South East and Ireland as a whole. The festival's aim was to involve people in the appreciation of good, clean, fair food while showcasing all the gastronomic delights the region has to offer. Now in its fourth year the Waterford Harvest Festival had attractions such as the return of the very popular ‘Picnic and Play’ in the People’s Park and the hugely successful all-island farmers and country market. Other things included in the 9 day festival included: See It, Taste It: Sumptuous Slow Food Tours - visit local food producers. Le Taste! - sample a unique style of Mediterranean cuisine. Taste It - whiskey, wine, cheese, beer & coffee tastings - YUM! Cookery Demos & Chats: Coffee and Conversation with Darina Allen - Chat. Man Can Cook with Jean Baptiste DuBois - Demo. Family Kitchen with Catherine Fulvio - Demo. Fishy Friday with Martin Shanahan - Demo. Good Mood Food with Donal Skehan - Demo. Dine For Fun: A Restaurant Trail with a difference combining flavoursome food and maybe the opportunity to find love! Glory BEE to HONEY: This will tell you everything you need to know about the goodness of honey and the story of Irish beekeeping. Fishy Friday: Important thing to know about fish - their nutrients, the dangers that they face and what is being done to make the fishing industry sustainable while ensuring that generations of Irish fishermen can continue to provide delicious fresh fish daily. Dawn Meats were delighted to play its part again in the festival, see below Paul Nolan working hard to keep everyone fed and satisfied on the day.
