Dawn Chef products are packed in thermoformed vacuum packs or in DARFRESH® vacuum skin packs in order to maximise the fresh shelf life. For example, the Dawn Chef beef steaks have a fresh shelf life of 21 days from pack date. The UK market for Ready to Cook foods reached an estimated £567 million in 2004 and sales doubled in the period 1999-2004. This exceptionally strong growth is due to a high level of NPD in the market. Pre-marinated, pre-basted portions with topping sauces have emerged as the leading segment in terms of value sales and accounts for 45% of the market. (Mintel, 2004).
We have embraced this emerging market with our new Ready to Cook range, "Simply..." - delicious and flavoursome meal centres. We have created these tasty and convenient lines - inspired by popular dishes loved by consumers - which can simply be pan-fried, grilled or oven-baked. Prime, tender cuts of meat have been teamed with delicious sauces, flavoured butters or glazes. Our vision was to create a range that satisfies and anticipates lifestyle trends across all consumers, whilst maintaining the core values of quality, value and freshness. The appetising range of flavour profiles will appeal to a wide consumer base, and so far the Simply... range has had a very successful launch and has proved popular with customers. In Ridings Reserve we produce our mature English Beef that consistently performs to today's high standards. We achieved this standard through tried and trusted traditional butchery methods. Each carcass is carefully selected by weight and grade, to your own personal requirements. The result is succulent, tender English beef, which has the texture and flavor expected from a traditionally matured English product.
Our English Beef both 'boneless' and 'bone in beef' is differentiated by: Flavour - all Ridings Reserve English Beef is Achilles hanged, unless otherwise instructed. Delivery - we can deliver 'bone in beef' within five days of slaughter to your specified location Specification - each "bone in cut" contains confirmation of the customer's unique specification for weight, fat class, confirmation grade, sex and traceability Maturation - our steer & heifer beef is matured to a minimum 10-14 days prior to de-boning Selection - Only steer and heifer U & R grades for confirmation, 4L & 4H for fat coverage and weight of sides of beef between 165-185 kg are selected for de-boning Maximum Yield - our beef is butchered and retail trimmed to minimise waste Traditionally Butchered - all our beef is traditionally butchered
