The Dawn Beef Partnership is funded by the Dawn Meats Group and run in association with Teagasc (Irish National Agicultural Advice and Research Agency). It is a highly selective pilot programme based on the principle of forward pricing and a commitment from Dawn to purchase all finished cattle meeting specific high quality standards from the Dawn Quality Beef Partnership Group members.

The objectives of the programme are:

• To enhance the quality of beef for specific outlets
• To reward quality production
• To increase the efficiency of beef cattle production
• To achieve increased profitability from finishing cattle production systems.
• Supply management

Teagasc offer support by providing nutritional, breeding, financial management advice and quality assurance training for participants. Technical support/Discussion Groups in which Dawn Meats staff participate are an integral part of the programme.
